At the heart of the Archive, a chamber glowed with cold blue light. In its center: a terminal with two slots—dual-key access.

“You have half the code,” he said. “I have the other.”

“What happens if I don’t input mine?”

“You stay a puppet. And someone else takes your place.”

She inserted the drive. A low hum began.

But something was wrong.

A third slot opened.

A third key?

Before she could react, a small panel slid open behind her—revealing a sleek drone, hovering silently.

A voice crackled from it.

“Version 28 has been activated.”
